Figueres is a slightly shabby town though perfectly friendly and people mostly come here for the Dali museum. Were stayed for a couple of days rest at the end of our long GR11 hike - its much cheaper than Barcelona! tbh though there isn't a lot to do here.

Very nice little town!!
Very nice little town!! People are nice , the restaurants are affordable, they had a really nice food market on Thursday morning! It was perfect!
Its a little town though so 3-4 days is long enough ;)
Be sure to visit the Dali Museum, it’s just unfortunate that the paintings are not better explained. An audio guide would have been appreciated.
The best churros were right around the corner from Duran Hotel!!!

I didn't come for the Dali Museum and didn't go to it.
I didn't come for the Dali Museum and didn't go to it. But Figueres is a pleasant and friendly town and I enjoyed exploring it. It is also a good base for visiting and walking in the surrounding countryside. I had a couple of excellent longish walks in the Serra de Rodes (on two of the megalithic trails) and there is clearly much more to explore.

Trip to the Salvadore Dali museum was excellent,
Food in some cafes inexpensive even in the main Ramblas area.
Visited the St Ferran castillo (N11A north of Figueres). English tours ob specific days of the week. In my opinion not suitable if walking is restricted. There is a 20 min overview in several languages inside. 5€ for standard enttrance. Guided tour 16 euros.

It’s better to go when it’s less crowded, around 12 it’s full of people so better to go earlier in the morning. It takes about 3 hours to observe everything.
If you plan on having a english speaking guide plan way ahead.

I was just passing through to the Pyrenees and it is a good destination to get to from Barcelona by train if you are planning to cycle the Pyranees as I did. The real only attraction in the town is Dali's museum which I never visited. The train from Barcelona is fast and stops only 3 times before reaching Figueres. It does seem as if it is used by a large number of comuters that live in Girona and travel the hour into the city every day so best times to travel areout of peak hours.
Came in the afternoon and just ordered some nice Tapas from the hotel bar after a day of roadtrip travel. As I was traveling by car, I needed to find an convenient place to park, which I did close by. The Spanish style hotel was located on the edge of the city center and was an easy, pleasant walk, yet far enough away to be very quiet. Just what I needed.
Loved the tree-lined Sycamore avenue. As a traveler, got to put my pin on their hotel map.
Access to the museum cannot be beat, as well as the central part of Figueres. The patio in 1A was beautiful and pleasant for breakfast in the morning. The hosts were prompt to reply to WhatsApp messages and accessing the keys & apartment were easy. The kitchen facilities were sufficient for our 1-night stay, though the plates & glasses were not very clean, so we had to wash them before use. The view was great, but came at great cost.
The hotel I have already visited more than 10 times is always comfortable, clean and the rooms are great. Staff is always friendly and private parking is an extra PLUS. Maybe a bit noisy at the busy street but that is also good if you want to be on the road for visiting other places like Villafant, Rosas, Cadaques. Only 10 minutes easy walk into city cantre.
The apartment was absolutely stunning. So much style and thought in the design. We loved the space, indoors, outdoors and pool side. Claudia is a fantastic host and helped us throughout. Inc a puck up from the train station. This was the highlight of our 10 day trip through France and Spain.
The apartment is right in the city center, next to the Tourist Office and the brand new Dali Museum.
The owner was most helpful, and provided us many useful pieces of advice in order to visit the Alt Emporda.
The apartment is very cozy, and nicely decorated.
La Barretina is run by a couple who have hospitality in their bones. What it lacks in size of rooms or luxury is made up by their willingness to connect and provide assistance. They also have a range of the best herbal teas available. Unusual for Spain.
Stayed with friends riding through Spain, Portugal and France on our motorbikes.
Very pleasant overnight stay. Convenient location, clean and tidy rooms, friendly and engaging staff, cold beer and decent food too.. would happily return and recommend.
We've used this Hotel a couple times already while heading south or north. It's not far from the Highway, the rooms are lovely and clean, the stuff is exeptional, it has a secure Parking for no additional cost and a very decent restaurant.
It s location is very central but the room was on a quiet street. Nice rooms, nice decoration, clean bathroom…Parking is a bit costly but up the street from the hotel
Davinia the manager is so nice and helpful: a darling!
Spacious room, big cozy bed and hotel is pet friendly. We paid extra for breakfast and it was nice. There is restaurant in hotel but unfortunately we didn't try the food as we were tired. Staff is very friendly.
Always stay here when travelling from France into Spain.
Comfortable hotel, excellent staff. Safe parking.
Restaurant offers great food.
Easy walk into figueres.
Comfortable beds
Small fridge in room
Staff was welcoming and nice. Hotel was very clean and on a quiet street, just a couple blocks away from some of the main tourist squares. Would definitely stay here again!
Location was great-could walk to center and shopping
Great restaurant tho we were the only ones eating dinner that night
Very reasonable-great value in Figueres
